Habilitation is one of the ways to provide the required proof of outstanding scientific achievement and didactic skills you need for a professorship. With the professorial dissertation on the one hand and a public habilitation lecture including a colloquium on the other, candidates demonstrate that they can fulfill the requirements in research and teaching. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Rhineland-Palatinate, habilitated persons are entitled to call themselves “associate professor”(“Privatdozent(in)”). They are authorized to teach at the higher education institution where they completed their habilitation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \n\n \n\n
